Each diagnostic usually contains 3 sections:

  1. Demographic section
  2. Evaluation section
  3. Free text - qualitative section

Demographic Section

This section asks the respondents questions about themselves. For example
Each demographic question enables the data to be sorted by that particular characteristic. The organisation chooses which demographics are most relevant for use in their data collection.

Evaluation Section

Contains a series of questions grouped under key themes such as communication, leadership, service, teamwork, innovation etc. Respondents are asked to rate each question on 2 scales: firstly the importance of the issue to them and secondly how the organisation performs.

The importance/performance rating allows an organisation to prioritise the actions they intend to take as a consequence of the diagnostic. The questions are developed in conjunction with the client using proQualis' extensive question libraries, to ensure the most relevant issues are covered.

Free Text - Qualitative Data

This section usually appears at the end of the diagnostic and asks the respondent a number of open ended questions about their experience of the organisation. For example: The responses to these questions are used in conjunction with the quantitative data to present a comprehensive picture of the attribute being assessed.
In addition othere approaches to the collection of qualitative data such as adjective checklists are available. For example:

Hot Issues Section

This section is not always used but allows an organisation to question respondents about an issue that has limited currency and may not be included in a subsequent diagnostic. The inclusion of this section in any 1 year does not impede the ability to undertake a comparative analysis in Year 2 onwards.
